The City of Memphis has been named a Health Champion by the American Diabetes Association. This designation recognizes organizations that make health and wellness a priority for their employee. To earn the Health Champion designation, organizations must meet healthy living criteria in three different areas: Nutrition and Weight Management, Physical Activity and Organizational Well-Being. The health and wellness initiatives of the City of Memphis have met the criteria, and the American Diabetes Association has selected us for the prestigious recognition.
The City of Memphis has also been recognized by the Governor’s Foundation for Health & Wellness as an official Healthier Tennessee Workplace as well as by the Memphis Business Group on Health for creating and sustaining a culture of health that promotes the health of our employees and supports our community’s economic vitality.

The City offers several Financial Wellness tools (Budgeting App, Videos and webinars) and offers quarterly Financial Wellness seminars to improve financial growth.

The City of Memphis recognizes and supports the formation of Volunteer Employee Resource Groups as: A VOLUNTEER program funded by the City of Memphis to allow employees of similar interest & passion to drive cultural awareness. The goal is to engage and attract a diverse workforce and foster an inclusive workplace environment. City of Memphis Employee Resource Groups provide education, community service, volunteer opportunities and networking opportunities. All employees are welcome to join all Employee Resource Groups.
