Vacation Carryover 2025

VACATION Hours and CARRYOVER EXCEPTION 2025

Per City of Memphis Human Resources Policy, vacation leave may be carried forward from one calendar year to the next for a maximum of ten (10) days (40-hour per week employee) or six (6) 24-hour shift days (Fire 56-hour per week employee) with no exception required.  Employee will not have to take any action; time will automatically carry over in UKG.

 

Any additional days will be forfeited unless an Exception form is submitted and approved.   

 

Exceptions: Additional carryover vacation hours will only be considered when an employee was unable to use their vacation hours due to being out on approved OJI, Military Leave, ADAAA, or FMLA. (Documentation must be provided).

  • Deadline for submission is November 12 – December 31, 2024.

  • ALL 2024 vacation carried over into 2025 must be used by July 1, 2025 or those hours will be forfeited.
