14 Paid Holidays

Employees receive 14 paid holidays each year , representing the total number of company-recognized days off annually. *Subject to change pending City Council approval.* A full holiday calendar is published annually and includes major federal, state, and observance holidays.

Free Employee Health Center

The Employee Health Center provides FREE healthcare services, including visits, labs, and select medications, with no copays, deductibles, or insurance required. Services are available to full-time and part-time employees, covered dependents, and retirees. All medical information is protected under HIPAA and is not shared with the City of Memphis.

Access Perks

Access Perks is a discount program that provides City employees with 30–50% savings on goods and services, including travel, entertainment, retail, and more. Employees can enroll through the Total Rewards Wellness page and begin using discounts immediately.

Fitness Your Way

Fitness Your Way® gives employees access to thousands of gyms nationwide, plus on-demand workouts and live virtual fitness classes. The City covers the enrollment fee and base package cost. Employees only pay additional fees if they choose upgraded gym memberships or premium services.

Student Loan Reduction

The City of Memphis offers student loan repayment assistance to eligible full-time employees after one year of continuous service. Loans must be associated with an accredited institution and meet program criteria. The program is administered through Bright Horizons EdAssist Solutions, which also provides free financial coaching and student loan guidance.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

City of Memphis employees may qualify for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, which forgives eligible student loans after qualifying payments while working in public service. Employment verification support is available through Human Resources.

Mental Health & EAP Resources

The CONCERN Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides free, confidential counseling and support for employees and household members facing personal, emotional, financial, legal, or substance-related challenges. Mental health benefits also include Talkspace, offering digital access to licensed therapists via text, voice, and video for employees and eligible dependents ages 13 and older.

Wellness Incentives

The voluntary Wellness Incentive Program encourages employees to improve their health while earning rewards such as merchandise or gift cards. Beginning in 2026, employees may earn a $50 incentive by completing any eligible service at a City of Memphis Employee Wellness Center.

Pet Insurance

Pet insurance is available through Pet Partners Advantage, accessed via EFP and LifeMart, helping make veterinary care more affordable. The plan allows employees to visit any licensed veterinarian in the U.S., with reimbursement for eligible accident and illness expenses.

Sick Leave Bank

The Sick Leave Bank provides paid leave grants to eligible members who have exhausted all personal leave due to a qualifying medical condition. Members may receive up to 1,040 hours of paid leave. Eligible employees may enroll during Open Enrollment by donating a portion of sick leave, with membership effective January 1.
